119. The Plants along the Riverbank. Which one are you?

I’ve been feeling this pull from the Lord lately, it’s an undeniable feeling. One of needing to step up in certain areas of my life, to take big chances, make big changes, and to have an even bigger faith. The Lord has been bringing a sweet conviction over me. Literally. As many of you know, sugar has been the one thing that I’ve held onto. Giving up alcohol, easy; giving up pot, easy; giving up gambling, easy; giving up sugar....woah Lord. It’s been a year long attempt.  Ephesians 2:22-24 - 22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth You all that have been following my blogs since the beginning know my struggle and know how many times the Lord has brought this up to me. Last night brought a deeper conviction. As ...

118. You have to Do the things

I haven’t been able to focus much on writing lately. It seems like the hours slip through my fingers like sand in an hourglass. I’ve been going a million miles per hour and the Lord keeps reminding me to slow down. This time it’s by being forced to be home with a sick lil Nash man. Leah is doing her homeschool and I’ve decided that I’m not going to pressure myself to work from home today. My children need me refreshed and calm with a dash of patience and understanding. They don’t need me ignoring them to make phone calls and trying to get things done that in the long run won’t matter much anyway.  Deuteronomy 4:9 9 Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and your grandsons. I’m going to be preaching to myself here but I thought that it might help to write it out. I’ve had some visions recently but the sam...

117. Rainy Day Christians; Desert First Christians

As I was getting ready for work today, it seemed to be another cloudy day outside. I am not a fan of rain or gloomy clouds. I need sunshine, I really do. As I was on my way to take Nash into daycare I was looking up at the sky. You could see the dark grey rain clouds, you could see a thousand different shades of blue and gray scattered through the cloudy morning sky. It was a beautiful reminder of the unlimited color pallet that the Lord paints with. All I could see were clouds and gloom. It didn't matter which direction I turned, there was a level of darkness that appeared to be all around me. Then I heard Him whisper "over here". As I turned my stance around, I could immediately see the sun, shining brightly through a break in the clouds. It was illuminating the sky, shining it's light on the wet roads and bringing the comfort of warmth to this chilly morning. The Lord reminded me that even in the storms of life, when the entire picture you think you see appears t...

116. The Blind Leading the Blind; The Glory is in the Detail

The other day I heard the Lord whisper to me "the glory is in the detail". I paused and sat with that sentence for a few moments. The glory is in the detail. Then it was quiet. Sometimes that's all I'll get, a scripture, a phrase, a notion. It's not always this booming revelation where the presence of the Lord is undeniable and the walls shake around me. Sometimes, it's just a small quiet voice, the same voice that many of you hear for yourselves and disregard. Try listening and leaning in, you might be surprised.  I recorded that video the other day that detailed my fun trip up the run away truck ramp. As I was thanking the Lord over the next couple days, the conversation went something like this. Lord I am so blessed to be safe, thank you again for all that you do for me and for the kids. Thank you for keeping us safe, thank you that my car can handle the fact that I drive it like a tank. "Blind leading the blind, Ash. Look that one up." Luke 6:3...

115. Heaven or Hell? The gavel is about to drop

It's funny how the Lord will be quiet with me for a few days and then bam, dump some huge revelation on me out of no where, while I am just driving along minding my own business. Today, for example, while I was on my way to work this morning, I was having a Seinfeld moment thinking about the manner in which people get into cars when more than one person needs to get in the back seat. Like, when do you open one door and do the 'get in and slide over' vs when do you walk around the car to get in on the other side. I was factoring in the relationships of the people you'd be sitting with, then I started to think of the weather, like if it was raining and you're in a hurry, then I was wondering if it would make a difference if it's a cab or an uber, probably a difference if there are three in the back opposed to only two, if there is traffic on the road on the other side of the car, etc. As my mind was going into all of these imaginary scenarios for no reason at all,...

114. The chain breakers coming; the enemy looks foolish

This conference was such a blessing to my spirit. This was the first time I’ve really attended a teaching on anything related to prophecy. I’ve been to a ton of healing and deliverance teachings, and I’ve seen teachings on the gifts and the baptism of the Holy Spirit, but prophecy is new. I’ve been told by others that I have a prophetic gift but I didn’t really understand what that meant or how to use that in anything other than my blogs with how I write about what I see. I feel far more equipped in this area now. The Holy Spirit was tossing confirmation left and right to everyone this entire weekend. It was such an anointed flow.  The teachings by Kevin Riordan, Brett Spears, and Terry Smith were informative, relatable, anointed, spirit led, and fit perfectly together like a all of the pieces to a brand new puzzle being put together by a retired couple sitting on their sun porch by the beach on a breezy Sunday after church.  There were almost too many experiences to re...

113. Vipers among you

As I was laying down in bed last night, it suddenly became darker than normal. The air began to feel very dry, as I looked around I realized that I was in another vision. It looked like I was in a pit, the ground was dusty and dry, like it hadn't rained there in ages. It was dark and I began to hear a slight rustling and then a hissing. I began to see snakes emerging from the darkness around me. I was surrounded by them. They were vipers, arching up and hissing. Their teeth were gnashing and biting at me from all sides. It was hot, dusty, and dry. They seemed to be so large and tall as I was laying on the ground, but as I gained my perspective, I was able to stand to my feet. As I rose up, they began to shrink back to a normal size in my view. They were still hissing and biting at me but for some reason, they couldn't harm me. They weren't able to do anything but scare me. Once I realized that they couldn't hurt me, I heard the Lord speak "there are vipers surrou...

112. Investing in your salvation or your damnation?

The enemy hates advancement for the kingdom and comes against it full force. So many people that I know are under this feeling of oppression or attack, myself included. I've written about this a few times before and I'm sure it will be a topic that I refer to often. I don't think enough people realize the truth of the battle of the ages that we are living in. I don't think I've had writers block like this in a long while. I feel as though I have so much to say but can't say any of it at the same time. I start a sentence and then backspace it. I start a thought in my mind and get on a little rant, and then it disappears and I can't remember one word of it. So, maybe if I just sit here and type, something good will emerge from this mess that is my brain. Lord take control of my thoughts, my mind has been my battle and I fear I'm losing.  Tuesday I did some shopping. It's been the wrong week of the month for me so I was already hitting up the snack is...
