The other day I heard the Lord whisper to me "the glory is in the detail". I paused and sat with that sentence for a few moments. The glory is in the detail. Then it was quiet. Sometimes that's all I'll get, a scripture, a phrase, a notion. It's not always this booming revelation where the presence of the Lord is undeniable and the walls shake around me. Sometimes, it's just a small quiet voice, the same voice that many of you hear for yourselves and disregard. Try listening and leaning in, you might be surprised.
I recorded that video the other day that detailed my fun trip up the run away truck ramp. As I was thanking the Lord over the next couple days, the conversation went something like this. Lord I am so blessed to be safe, thank you again for all that you do for me and for the kids. Thank you for keeping us safe, thank you that my car can handle the fact that I drive it like a tank. "Blind leading the blind, Ash. Look that one up."
Luke 6:39 39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
The Glory is in the detail, the blind are leading the blind. I need some revelation on this Lord, help me out here.
Then the Lord put on my heart that the blind leading the blind is what most of this world has become, including main stream Christianity.
Not only do we see it in the world, with trends, with politics, with covid news and with those who are blindly going with the flow to fit in. Not only do we see this in the flesh, people chasing worldly pleasures, living like vikings and expecting grace to cover it so we can get our last minute ticket to heaven; but we also see it in the very Christianity that we preach in our churches. Just as I was blindly following those tail lights of the cars in front of me, even if it led me off of my path; there are many that are blindly following pastors or preachers that may not be sharing the full message of the gospel of Christ. People today are attending church to get that feel good gospel, not realizing that they are being slowly led off of the correct path and into the destruction of catering to the flesh.
We see the blind leading the blind when it comes to preaching this prosperity gospel without preaching the repentance that goes with it. We see the blind leading the blind when preachers have fancy cars and yachts but don't feed the poor in their own community. We see the blind leading the blind when pastors and preachers can speak an hour sermon on the fact that you are a sinner and need to repent but they never once mention the fact that once you repent you no longer need to be bound in guilt and condemnation because He comes to LIVE INSIDE OF YOU when you are born again, to change you!!
Everyone wants to preach about how to get to heaven, how to sow in order to get blessings, or what becoming a Christian can do FOR YOU; but no one is preaching about how Christ can TRANSFORM YOU when you DIE TO YOURSELF and fully submit to the Lord. You need to die to your worldly desires and to your emotions. Sometimes what you really need, is the correct view of the gospel, a knowing of the truth in the fact that Christ died for YOU because He loves YOU. He died one of the most horrible deaths ever recorded and was resurrected on the third day to break the barrier and to tear down the veil that separates us from the Father. Jesus died so the blind could see! Pull the veil off of your eyes church. The Lord is living IN YOU already. You just need to walk it out and recognize your worth.
Do not simply attend sermon after sermon, teaching after teaching, or conference after conference if you have no intention of applying what you are learning to your own life. Apply what you learn to your life. Change your mindset.
Romans 8:9-15 9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Jesus is not the way to Heaven, He is the way back to the Father. He is the way to unity for all eternity.
Galatians 2:20-21 20 I have been put up on the cross to die with Christ. I no longer live. Christ lives in me. The life I now live in this body, I live by putting my trust in the Son of God. He was the One Who loved me and gave Himself for me. 21 I say that we are not to put aside the loving-favor of God. If we could be made right with God by keeping the Law, then Christ died for nothing
2 Thessalonians 1:9-12 9 They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 10 when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. 11 To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Psalm 139:11-16 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” 12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Lets talk for a moment on "the Glory is in the detail". What the Lord put on my heart to share on this is that there will be a fine line between Heaven and Hell come judgement day. The difference will be based on the glory found in the details of your life. Do you have a prayer life? Do you help others? Do you put the shopping cart back when you're done? Do you become frustrated and angry in traffic? Do you let your anger get the best of you? Do you let your emotions get the best of you? Do you put the Lord into every task that you accomplish? Do you ever just skip over things that need done because you give in to your feelings? Are you showing love and patience? It doesn't matter how big the Christian bumper sticker on your car is when your heart is full of hatred. It doesn't matter how many dollars you donated to feed the poor if you only did it to brag about it and to take selfies. You can lay hands on thousands to be healed and have no relationship with Jesus. The glory will be found in the detail. There is a fine line. Become the righteousness that lives in you.
I feel that the Lord is calling out for a leveling of the playing field. We need to realize who we are in Christ. We need to understand that there is no junior Holy Spirit. We need to understand that the same Holy Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead on the third day, is here for us to call on as our helper. The same Holy Spirit that baptized the disciples, is right here with us, right now and forever. The same Holy Spirit that speaks through someone seasoned in ministry is the very same Holy Spirit that gives a new believer their first word of knowledge for someone.
I was blessed with another vision the other day. I saw this deserted land. It was this giant open area with cracked dry ground. It reminded me of the Arizona desert. Out in the middle of this empty space, I saw a section of the land that was raised up. It looked like a giant pillar made of a light brown clay dirt. It was very wide and there was open access all around it. All of a sudden the vision changed and I saw people coming from every direction. They were all rushing toward this risen pillar, as fast as they could. Those who made it around the base of the pillar began to be lifted up by the other people rushing in. The thought the Lord put in my spirit was that of congregations competing to lift up their pastors. Some areas would only have 10-15 people trying to push them up. Some had hundreds standing behind them and underneath them pushing them toward the top. When they made it to the top of the pillar. They stood proud and looked out among the people. They would begin shouting their sermons over the crowd. They were gloating over their position, considering themselves higher up than the very people that just helped them get to the top. They weren't looking down, they were looking out, over everyone. Speaking above their heads as if their individuality was non existent. As if they were speaking above them and not to them on any level.
Then the Lord put on my heart that he is raising up a new generation.
Suddenly I saw angels rushing in to help those with smaller congregations. More and more pastors made it to the top of the pillar. One after the other, they began speaking out over the crowd from their new platform. Suddenly there was one man who brought change. One man who was lifted up to the top of the platform and instead of looking out, he looked down. He wanted everyone who had lifted him up, standing on that same platform with him. He didn't see a difference in himself and in those who had helped him up. As others on the top urged him to look out, he wouldn't stop looking down. The next thing I knew, this man jumped down off of the platform. He went right back to the bottom and he began speaking with his congregation. He showed them the wisdom of building a human ladder. The wisdom of doing something new. As his congregation came together, he helped each and every one of them to stand firm on the shoulders of the person below them. He helped them to hold firm to the ankles of the person who was on their shoulders. he instructed them on stability, strength and endurance. He showed them how to climb up one another, using each others strengths to move the entire body of Christ toward the top. When he made it back to the top of the pillar, he immediately extended his hand out and pulled the next member of the congregation up to meet him. Then the next, then the next, and the next. This went on all the way to the very last member. They had all worked together to unify their position at the top.
As soon as they made it to the top, the pillar disintegrated. It disappeared altogether. Suddenly, in an instant, everyone who had made it to the top, fell right back down to the dry land below. Just like that, they were all on the same level again. Just as we will all be considered equal come judgement day.
The Lord put on my heart that there will be a new breed of pastors, teachers, preachers, prophets, apostles, and evangelists that are not in this for what they can get from the Lord. They will preach the full truth, they will educate and they will share the good news of the gospel, not to glorify themselves but for Christ to be glorified through them. They will preach in a way that this relationship with Christ will be made attainable to anyone who comes forward to obtain one. They will preach as the disciples preached, not worried about offending but only concerned with bringing truth.
The Lord wants us to realize that even in the illusion of the platform, not all that preach salvation are saved. The glory is in the detail. Discern.
1 Timothy 4:11-16 11 Command and teach these things. 12 Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. 14 Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. 15 Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. 16 Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.
