165. Trust the Experts!

I get that I’m the crazy mom. The one with too many rules. The one that thinks “everything’s a demon” and the one that is the only mom that doesn’t give her kid her own phone number and can still read her texts. I get that not everyone understands the spiritual warfare that actually goes on in this world. I’m crazy for saying horoscopes are witchcraft, I’m crazy for saying don’t dress up for Halloween. I’m crazy because they’re just kids and let them have some fun. I’m the mean mom because I wouldn’t let Leah act out a play with her friends because I saw it had murdering in it through watching her texts. I’m sorry but no, you shouldn’t be acting out crime scene murders at the age of 10. Game or no game. I’ll be that mean mom.

Consider this. There are so many things we don’t know anything about. Think about car shows and racing. Those folks that are into that can tell you all the specs, the track info, they know the backgrounds of all the other drivers and their strengths and weaknesses. If you’re not a car buff, you’re clueless.

What about fishing? Those who do it frequently know which bait attracts which fish. They study the water, their migration habits, they change their bait, their lures, they use certain boats in certain areas, while those who don’t fish are clueless.

Think about professional bakers. They know exactly how to mix the ingredients. They know which flavors pair well with others. They know the consistency, the taste, they know how to mix the icing just right. They know all the little tricks to the trade because they are professionals.

Think about accountants. They know all the ins and outs of financial transactions. They know tax laws. They know stocks. They know everything they possibly can about every monetary detail possible. Because they are professionals.

Think about teachers. They provide information to our children. We trust them. They’ve gone to school to learn how to be good with children, how to communicate effectively and how to instruct our children to learn to the best of their individual abilities. We trust them because they’re professionals.

Think about gamers. They know the difference in PS5 and PS4 and Xbox live. They have computers dedicated to having enough ram and the best graphics. They have multiple screens and play with headsets coordinating multiple people at the same time, while many of us were lost when Nintendo went to Super Nintendo. We still think of sonic on sega. We are clueless to the details of their rapidly changing detailed world.

Think about the music scenes, the different organizations, the different professional societies for HR, Medical, Accounting professionals. All of these small scenes and groups are known inside and out by professionals or those who are interested and drawn to those small groups, yet the general public is clueless to their existence and operation.

So when we trust all of these professionals to know all of these areas we know little about ourselves. Why do we not trust a professional satanist that turned to Christ when he says that Christians should have no part in Halloween? Why do we not realize that just because we don’t understand spiritual warfare doesn’t mean it’s non existent. Just because you never saw a demon manifest in your lukewarm church doesn’t mean they aren’t there. Why do we scoff at ministers that walk in the supernatural but line up at the door of psychics? Why do we consult the horoscopes instead of consulting the one who made the stars?

Demons are real, they’re affecting each and every one of us. They bombard our thoughts, they cause fear, anxiety, panic, sickness, nervousness, headaches, and prevent us from healing. They hide behind the curtain stealing moments of joy from our lives just enough to keep us frustrated but never enough to make us aware that our issues are demonically driven. They prevent us from experiencing what the Bible is speaking to us through the Holy Spirit. They suffocate our finances, keep us bound and prevent us from walking in the fruits of the spirit.

If we trust all of these professionals because they know their areas of interest so well, why do we not trust ministers who function in deliverance and healing? Those who have studied it, walked in it, experienced it hands on? Those who have been through hundreds of hours of deliverance?

Wake up to the fact that demons are real. Wake up to the fact that we all deal with them. Wake up to the fact that freedom comes with deliverance. Trust the Experts! Stay away from what the Bible instructs us to stay away from. Drive demons out, don’t pretend they’re not there.

James 2:19 - Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Hebrews 1:14 - Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Isaiah 47:13 - Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.

Matthew 12:43-45  43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

2 Peter 2:4-6 4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; 5 if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

Leviticus 19:31 - Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:6 - And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

Leviticus 20:27 - A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

Mark 9:29 - And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Mark 3:11 - And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

Luke 8:2 - And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils

Jude 1:6 - And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Matthew 12:22 - Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

Matthew 10:1 - And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Revelation 22:15 - For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Deuteronomy 18:10-13 10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

Exodus 22:18 - Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

244. Out of the Wilderness

The Lord is calling you. He's calling you deeper. He's calling you higher. He's calling you to become more of His and less of what this world calls "Christian" and gets away with. He's calling you, to gather all the broken pieces of the past and He is leading you, to help you put them back together again.  This morning during worship the Lord led me to an open field. There was a half broken down stage like the aftermath of a weekend music festival. I was walking the disheveled grounds kicking through trash and broken down campsites. So much mess left behind without a care or thought in the world. Our pasts can feel the same. So much junk, so much carnage, so much chaos left behind.  I grabbed a large trash bag and began cleaning. As I continued to gather things up, the ground was transforming. The season was shifting. The air felt lighter, the leaves in the surrounding trees began to change and a fresh autumn breeze began to blow through the field. As the la...

258. Is Jesus Enough?

Is Jesus enough for you? What if we never arrive? What if like Moses you wander in the desert for years only to have the Joshua generation be the one to enter the promised land? The land that was originally promised to Abraham 42 generations prior. 42 generations it took to fulfill that promise.  What if you’re generation 37, or 16, or 5 or 41. What if your family is this close to the breakthrough of the promised land that you’ve been praying for, and you give up now? What if you take the bait of the enemy and quit before you reach the finish line? Or worse yet, you give up, erase the efforts of every generation before you, and your kids or grandkids never meet Jesus at all.  This is your reminder…don’t fall for it. Same evil tactics different worldly package. All designed to kill, steal and destroy.  Satan doesn’t have to take your life if he can take your peace, wrap you in groundhog’s days, and have you spread that woe is me, lack of joy under a “Christian” label, like...

250. Stay North Ash

Testimony time! Change is hard for some people, especially during the holidays. While many others handle change with ease, I tend to handle it like a cat thrown in a bathtub. Settling in here hasn’t been much different. So much change.  In many areas it’s been a blessing and the perfect fit, but I’d be lying if I said being this far away from Leah wasn’t the hardest thing I’ve ever done. While she’s amazingly independent, I always thought she’d be away at college before I couldn’t just stop by if she ever needed me for anything.   This has led to me questioning the Lord on a lot of things, and led to me wondering if us moving to Morgantown would be a good fit for the next season the Lord has coming up over the horizon.   How many of you have experienced something similar? You pray, the Lord answers, you obey, then you’re in it. You’re smack dab in the middle of what you prayed for and it ends up challenging you to grow in ways you never thought possible.  You ...
